For our health, the ‘Red Zone’ is the holiday season – from November to January. As it is, the seasonal change is hard on our immune system, and it’s the beginning of cold and flu season (and in the U.S. let’s not forget the disruption to our health caused by the Daylight Savings Time change).

The decades old false reasoning that eating fat = high cholesterol = heart disease is the result of the perfect storm of bad science combined with bad public policy hammered into American culture through congressional legislation (think food pyramid recommending avoiding saturate fat and eating 5-6 servings of grains, breads and pasta every day); and making matters even worse, the enormous corruption and influence of the pharmaceutical industry driving doctors toward recommending statins.
